The Reason behind the soulful facialist & exciting news
I’ve been thinking a lot about why I do this work, and honestly, it always comes back to my own story. I grew up carrying stress that seemed to follow me everywhere—through my childhood, my teens, my twenties, and even into my thirties. I’ve battled anxiety, post-partum overwhelm, and acne as a teen that left me feeling like I didn’t even recognize myself in the mirror. I’ve burned out more times than I can count, and my body has always been the first to feel it. Those experiences shaped the way I see the world, the way I approach healing, and the way I work with my clients.
In 2015, I traveled solo through Asia, and that trip changed everything. I witnessed how different cultures approach touch, ritual, and wellness in ways that are so integrated into daily life. I watched how self-care can be sacred, intentional, and restorative. That journey planted the seed for how I approach facials now—not just as skincare treatments, but as rituals that support the body, mind, and nervous system. It was a reminder that true beauty and wellness come from tending to the whole self, not just the surface.
My facials blend skin science, advanced massage, and somatic therapy—not just to nourish the skin, but to create a moment where you feel seen, held, and restored. I wanted to create a space where women can escape for a little while, slow down, and really tend to themselves. A space where you can be honest about what’s impacting your skin, your health, or your body—without judgment. A space where the outside world pauses, and you can reconnect with yourself.
Because the truth is, beauty isn’t just surface deep. It’s nervous system deep, soul deep, life deep. It’s how you feel in your body, how you show up in the world, how you nurture yourself when no one else is watching. It’s resilience. It’s radiance. It’s the quiet strength that comes from being fully held, fully seen, and fully restored.
I created this work because I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from yourself—to struggle with your skin, your body, your health, and your mental well-being. And I wanted to create a practice that goes beyond aesthetics, that doesn’t just treat symptoms, but nourishes the whole person. A ritual of restoration, a moment to return to yourself, and a reminder that your beauty, vitality, and wellness are worth tending to.
This is why I do what I do. Not just for glowing skin, but for glowing women—women who feel empowered, held, and restored. Women who can reconnect with themselves and remember that they deserve to be seen, honored, and nurtured. That’s the work, the calling, and the privilege of being The Soulful Facialist.
Heading into my 5th year of business, I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who have supported me.
Majority of my clients have been with me from day one and honestly, that’s the biggest compliment I could have.
The start of 2026 marks a new chapter for my personal and professional life where I will be relocating from Battersea to Chessington.
My hours will be adjusting for home visits to work with my new family life.
I also have some very exciting news, with my new space in my new home I will be creating a garden cabin for bespoke 1-1 treatments.
The same treatments, different location.
This has always been my long term dream for my business and I’m beyond excited that I can now make this a reality.
Mobile clients I will still continue to work mobile and I have no intention or plan to stop this. Working ‘hybrid’ will allow my body to rest more inbetween the physical demands of mobile work. Allowing me to still treat you in future years to come!!
With love & gratitude,
Laura xx
